What is the difference between a regular cleaning and a deep cleaning?

A regular cleaning removes plaque and tartar (hardened plaque) from the tooth surfaces above the gumline. A deep cleaning also clears buildup from the root surfaces below the gumline, where it can irritate the gums.

What is periodontal maintenance?

Periodontal maintenance is an ongoing series of professional cleanings for patients who have been treated for gum disease. Dr. Lee sets the schedule based on the health of your gums.
