Cosmetic dentistry in Seattle

Dr. Jaime Lee plans cosmetic dentistry around the specific change you want to make, including tooth color, shape, proportion, spacing, or alignment.

She then evaluates which of those changes can be made with whitening or tooth movement and which require altering the visible tooth structure.

What can cosmetic dentistry change?

Dr. Lee separates cosmetic goals by what physically needs to change. Whitening changes natural tooth color, clear aligners move teeth, and veneers or other restorations change visible tooth shape and proportion.

She then selects the least invasive treatment capable of producing the intended result while accounting for tooth structure, gum health, existing dental work, and bite function.

What cosmetic dental treatments are available?

Teeth whitening

Professional whitening can brighten natural teeth. The result depends on the type of discoloration, and not every tooth responds in the same way.

Whitening does not change the color of existing crowns, fillings, or veneers. If you have dental work near the front of your mouth, discuss how whitening could affect the overall color of your smile.

Dental veneers

Veneers cover the front surfaces of teeth to change their appearance. They may be considered for concerns about tooth color, shape, or certain chips and gaps.

Veneer treatment can involve removing enamel, making it a long-term commitment. Veneers may also need repair or replacement over time. Discuss those tradeoffs along with the appearance you want.

Dental bonding

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored material to repair a small chip, refine a tooth's shape, or close a small gap. Dr. Lee evaluates the tooth and your bite to determine whether bonding is a strong, conservative fit for the change you want.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners use a series of removable trays to move teeth over time. They may be an option when you want to change tooth alignment rather than cover the front of a tooth.

Suitability and treatment length depend on the movement needed and your dental health.

Smile makeovers

A smile makeover brings selected treatments together to address more than one concern. For example, a person may want to change both tooth alignment and color.

The sequence matters. The plan should account for your oral health, how the treatments work together, and the changes you want to make.

What happens at a cosmetic dentistry consultation?

Dr. Lee evaluates your teeth, gums, and bite before discussing your cosmetic goals. She compares the treatment options that can provide the change you want while preserving your healthy tooth structure.

Dr. Lee reviews the advantages, limitations, and suggested order of treatment so you can understand your options and make informed decisions.

Active decay or periodontal disease is treated before elective cosmetic care so the final plan is built on a stable oral-health foundation.

Would I benefit from cosmetic dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry can address a specific change in tooth color, shape, spacing, alignment, or smile proportions when the teeth and gums are healthy enough for the planned treatment.

If active decay, gum disease, or structural damage is present, Dr. Lee incorporates that care before or within the cosmetic plan so appearance-focused treatment is built on a stable dental foundation.

When should you consider cosmetic dental treatment?

A cosmetic evaluation is useful when you want to change tooth color, shape, spacing, alignment, or overall smile proportions. Dr. Lee determines whether cosmetic treatment can begin directly or whether another dental condition should be addressed first.

Treatment timing follows the procedures included in the plan and the order in which they need to occur. If a specific date matters, Dr. Lee can factor that timing into the treatment sequence.

What affects the cost of cosmetic dentistry?

The cost of cosmetic dentistry depends on the treatment provided, the number of teeth involved, and any dental care needed beforehand. Dr. Lee will review the treatment plan and estimate with you before care begins.

Who provides cosmetic dentistry at Smile Art?

Dr. Jaime Lee studied fine art before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University in 2002. She applies that visual training when evaluating tooth proportion, symmetry, shade, and the relationship between cosmetic changes and the surrounding smile.

She integrates those cosmetic decisions with the health and structure of the teeth so appearance-focused treatment does not become disconnected from the underlying dental plan.
