Fractured denture base
Dr. Lee can successfully repair a cracked base if the acrylic remains structurally sound and the underlying mechanical cause of the failure has been properly diagnosed and addressed.

Denture repair restores a damaged removable prosthesis when the appliance still has an acceptable underlying fit and structure.
Dr. Jaime Lee would evaluate the fracture, broken tooth or component, denture base, bite, and supporting tissues before deciding whether repair, reline, adjustment, or replacement is the correct solution.

Repairing removable prostheses
A denture can fracture from impact, material fatigue, bite stress, or loss of support as the mouth changes.
Repairing the visible break without identifying the reason for failure can leave the underlying fit or loading problem unresolved.

A damaged prosthetic tooth or component may be replaceable depending on the appliance design and condition.

When looseness or tissue changes contributed to the damage, repair alone may not correct the underlying problem.

Anyone with a cracked base, broken denture tooth, damaged component, sharp edge, or sudden loss of stability should have the prosthesis evaluated before continuing normal use.
Dr. Lee explains the repair options and the expected timing after she evaluates the denture.
A fractured or sharp denture should be evaluated promptly because continued use can worsen the damage or irritate the supporting tissues.
Minor repairs can usually be completed the same day, chairside. Repairs that need a dental lab usually take about one week.
Cost depends on the type of damage, laboratory work, replacement components, and whether adjustment, reline, or a new denture is needed instead.

Dr. Jaime Lee evaluates the damaged prosthesis, current tissue support, and bite to determine whether repair remains reasonable or whether the denture needs broader correction.
Sometimes. The decision depends on the location of the fracture, age and condition of the base, fit, and why the break occurred.
Often it can, depending on the prosthesis design and condition.
Home adhesives can distort the fracture surfaces and complicate professional repair. A damaged denture should be evaluated instead.
Impact, material fatigue, bite forces, loss of tissue support, or a combination of factors can contribute.
